A Tonal Drill

.....

Tonal drills are something like sit-up exercises. Where sit-up exercises teach you to have control over the muscles of your body, tonal drills teach you to have control over your voice. When you can do all the tonal drills well, you will have little trouble with the tonal combinations you need in learning the Basic Sentences of the various units.

In the tonal drill below, the tones of the first two syllables are the same while that of the third differs from that of the first two.
