C 2- Practice writing out numbers by writing these sentences.
Example:

B:  Toâi ñeán Myõ hoâm hai möôi moát thaùng hai naêm moät nghìn chín traêm taùm möôi tö.
1. Chò aáy veà Qui Nhôn ngaøy 7-6-1981.
2. Coâ aáy ñi Haø Noäi luùc 5:30.

C 3- Using the cues, A asks B when someone is going to do something and B answers.

C 6- Give Vietnamese equivalents
1. What day is today?
  • Yesterday was Sunday, so today is Monday.
  • What is the date today?
  • Yesterday was the tenth, so today is the eleventh.
2. When did you arrive in the United States from France?
  • I arrived on the 24th of January 1989.
  • When will you go back to France?
  • I'll go back about March next year.
  • As for me, I'll go back in the year 2003.
3. What time did you go home from the club yesterday? (Hoâm qua..)
  • I went home at half past even.
  • When are you leaving here to go to Nhatrang?
  • I'm going tomorrow morning at nine.

Sue meets Bob and Greg downtown.  They studied Vietnamese together, and Sue hasn't seen Rob and Greg for a long time.

 

Sue:

Hello (you two), where are you two going (now)? I haven't seen you (both) for a very long time .
Rob: Hello (Sue). We're going to the Department of Health .
Sue: You work there, do you?
Greg: No, I work at the Department of Immigration , and Rob teaches French at Erindale School.
Sue: You're a teacher are you, Rob?
Rob: Yes, but I'm also a student.
Sue:  Oh really? What do you study?
Rob: Greg and I are studying Indonesian now.  Greg's about to go to Jakarta.
Sue: When are you going, Greg?
Greg: About the end of this year.  And you, what are you doing now?
Sue: I'm working at Foreign Affairs.  I'm also about to go to Bangkok .
Rob: When are you going?
Sue: I'm going at the beginning of next month.
Greg:  Really? We haven't seen each other for a long time.  Tomorrow night You and Rob come to my house for fun/ for a get-together/for a visit, all right?
Sue: Tomorrow night, eh? All right.  About what time, Greg?
Greg: 7:00 or 7:30, O.K.
Sue: All right.  Thank you.  Well, I have to go.  Goodbye (you two).
Greg & Rob: O.K.  Goodbye (Sue).
