C 7 (C9 in the text book)
Keo meets Cot out in town.  Both of them are hungry.  Cot says:
  • Let's go eat.
  • At what cafe? Keo asks .
  • Let's go to Ba Beo's .
  • O.K., that's good. But, how much money do you have? Keo asks.
Cot searches and searches his pockets and comes up with three piasters, and says:
  • I have only three piasters, and how much do you have?
After searching in all his pants pockets and shirt pockets, Keo hesitatingly says:
  • I don't have any money at all.
  • Never mind, Cot says, my money is enough to order one dish and two bowls of rice.
Let's go eat, don't worry.
The two go to Mrs. Beo's cafe and sit down at a table.  Keo asks:
  • Do you have anything special today?
  • We have Thanh Tri steamed rolls and My Tho noodle soup. Oh, today we have fresh shrimp. Try shrimp fritters and see how good they are.
  • All right, Keo says, bring us two two plates of shrimp fritters and
  • Hey! Hey! Cot says hurriedly, today I'm not very hungry. Pershaps you could bring us one plate of four shrimp fritters and two bowls of rice.
Mrs. Beo brings a plate of four shrimp fritters and two bowl of rice. Keo is vey hungry:
he sits and eats three shrimps at a go. Looking up he sees there's still one shrimp but Cot continues to sit quietly without picking up the shrimp. Keo is surprised:
  • Say, why don't you eat?
  • No, there's just one shrimp you go ahead and eat it so it will have friends (the other three shrimps).
