Setting Thai font for Netscape V.4.x

Note: Some Thai websites use special Thai fonts which can be viewed only when you use the Thai Edition of Windows.
If you are using English Windows, you must override those fonts with the "DB ThaiText" font as descibed below.

When you visit Thai news websites and you need to use the DB ThaiText font:

1. Select the Edit menu, then Preferences

2. Click Fonts, under Category: Appearance

3. Next to "For the Encoding" select User defined

4. Next to Variable Width Font select "DB Thai Text" (or other standard Thai font such as Angsana New which you may have on your computer).

5. Click OK

6. Select the View menu, then select Character Set and finally select User defined.

 

Note: In some cases, if the steps above do not show Thai characters, you must do one more step to view the Thai:

Under Edit/Preferences/Fonts you may also have to select "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts"

When you want to go back and read Thai in SEAsite

1. Select the Edit menu, then Preferences

2. Click Fonts, under Category: Appearance

3. Select For the encoding font to  Western

4. Select "Use document-specified fonts, including Dynamic Fonts"

6. Select View menu, select Character Set and then select Western
