(Tagalog Short Stories)
These are Tagalog short stories by known and not-so-known Filipino short story writers in Tagalog. Most of these writers were born in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and their works were published originally in Tagalog mass publications such as Liwayway, Hiwaga, and Liwayway Extra.
The short stories you will read here may contain a number of 'old' Tagalog words that are no longer popularly used by most Tagalog speakers today. A glossary of these Tagalog words and expressions are included at the bottom of each short story, which you can access by clicking on the Glossary links in each paragraph. You can also use our online Tagalog dictionaries for help with some of the common Tagalog words.
