Introduction

Thailand's fertile soil makes the country rich with various nutritional vegetables and fruits.   Almost all of Thai vegetables are herbal.  Some have strong smell, others are hot, spicy, and tasty.  Some can be eaten raw; others have to be cooked first.  On this page we're going to introduce some of the vegetables that are parts of  the Thais' daily meals, and those which are rarely seen in the United States.  If you are interested in the Thai names of the vegetables that are available in the US such as watermelon or cucumber, you can look it up from the glossary page.
