มั่น	เอ๊ะ นั่นคงรึ กำลังจะไปไหน
	Oh, is that you khoŋ? Where're you going?
คง	ผมกำลังจะไปซื้อของที่ร้านขายหนังสือครับ
	I'm on my way to the bookstore.
มั่น	ผมอยากจะไปด้วย อยากจะซื้อตำราวิทยาศาสตร์ สักเล่ม
	I'd like to go, too--I want to get a science book.
คง	อย่างนั้นก็ดีสิครับ เราจะได้ไปด้วยกัน
	O.K. Let's go together.
มั่น	คุณจะซื้ออะไรบ้างล่ะครับ
	What are you going to get?
คง	ผมต้องซื้อหลายอย่างครับ ตั้งแต่หมึก ปากกา ดินสอและกระดาษจนถึงหนังสือต่างๆ ผมยังไม่ได้ซื้อตำราและสมุดเลยตั้งแต่โรงเรียนเปิด
	I have to get a lot of things, from ink, pen, pencil, and paper, to books. I haven't bought any textbooks or notebooks since school opened.
มั่น	ก็โรงเรียนเพิ่งเปิดเมื่อสองสามวันนี่เอง ผมเองก็ยังซื้อของไม่ครบเลย ต้องซื้อดินสอและยางลบเหมือนกัน เมื่อซื้อของครบแล้วและถ้ามีเงินเหลือ บางทีผมอาจจะซื้อปากกาหมึกซึมสักด้ามด้วย

มั่น	วิชาที่ผมเรียนคือฟิสิกส์ เคมี และ ภาษาอังกฤษ คุณล่ะครับ
	The subjects I'm taking are physics, chemistry, and English. How about you?
คง	ผมเรียนวิชาครูครับ มีภาษาไทย ภาษาอังกฤษ ประวัติศาสตร์ และ ภูมิศาสตร์
	I'm studying education--we have Thai, English, history, and geography.
มั่น	ถ้าอย่างนั้นคุณก็อยู่ที่ตึกอักษรศาสตร์ตลอดเวลา สิครับ
	Then you stay in the Liberal Arts Building all the time.
คง	ครับ โดยมากอยู่ที่นั่น ถ้าไม่มีอะไรทำก็นั่งอ่านหนังสือหรือเขียนจดหมายในห้องสมุด
	Yes, I usually stay there. If I don't have anything to do, I sit and read or write letters in the library. What about you?
มั่น	ผมก็อยู่ที่ตึกวิทยาศาสตร์โดยมาก ถ้าผมไม่มีอะไรทำ ผมมักจะไปเล่นปิงปองหรือฟังหีบเสียงหรือวิทยุที่สโมสร ผมไม่ขยันอย่างคุณ
	I generally stay in the Science Building. If I don't have anything to do, I usually play pingpong or else listen to the phonograph or radio at the clubhouse. I'm not industrious like you.
คง	ผมก็ขี้เกียจเหมือนกัน ที่อ่านโดยมากไม่ใช่หนังสือเรียนหรอกครับ แต่ผมชอบทำการบ้านที่ห้องสมุดเพราะเมื่อไปบ้านก็ไม่ต้องเป็นห่วงเรื่องการบ้าน ที่ห้องสมุดวิทยาศาสตร์ของคุณมีที่อ่านหนังสือสบายไหมครับ
	[Oh], I'm lazy, too. The things I generally read are not schoolbooks. But I like to do my homework at the library, because when I go home then I don't have to worry about my homework any more. Do you have a comfortable place to read in your science library?
มั่น	ครับ มีโต๊ะและเก้าอี้มากมายและที่ฝาผนังบางแห่งมีกระดานดำด้วย มีนักเรียนมากไปอ่านหนังสือที่นั่นเสมอ ครูและอาจารย์มักจะค้นหาหนังสือและทำงานที่นั่นด้วย เมื่อวันก่อนผมพบอาจารย์วิทยาศาสตร์ ท่านบอกว่าห้องสมุดของเราน่ะมีหนังสือแทบทุกอย่าง
	Yes, there're plenty of tables and chairs and there're blackboards along the wall in some places, too. There are always a lot of students reading in there. Teachers and professors go look for books and work there, too. The other day I met my science professor. He said our library has books of almost every kind.
คง	ที่ห้องสมุดอักษรศาสตร์มีหนังสือเกี่ยวกับเรื่องทั่วไปมาก บางเล่มคุณยืมได้ราวหนึ่งอาทิตย์
	At the liberal arts library there are a lot of books on general subjects. Some you can take out for a week.
