Point 3. Relative order of adverb-auxiliaries
| English | ภาษาไทย |
| I won't stay here. | ผมจะไม่อยู่ที่นี่
| He'll have to stay here. | เขาจะต้องอยู่ที่นี่
| I don't want to go. | ผมไม่อยากจะไป
| He hasn't returned yet. | เขายังไม่กลับมา
As can be seen from these examples ma3j sometimes follows and sometimes precedes other adverb-auxiliaries; the same is true of ca$?. It is therefore necessary to memorize the relative order of these words. The chart which follows immediately below shows the adverb-auxiliaries that precede ca$? and those that follow. These combinations should be memorized. |

The above list will be easy for you to remember because several of the words in the left column generally occur followed by ca$? and you have already learned such combinations as units. The list immediately below shows the adverb-auxiliaries that precede ma3j and those that follow. Memorize these combinations also. |
Wherever ca$? is placed in parentheses this means that it can be omitted without any change in meaning. |
