Implements Used in Preparing Lao Food

Steamer Basket and Pot

Most often used in the preparation of sticky (sweet) rice, however, it can be used to steam vegetables, meats, or just about anything.

Aluminum Steamer

This steamer is typically used to steam vegetables and meats.

Sticky Rice Basket

These baskets are used to hold sticky rice once it has been cooked and cooled.

Mortar and Pestle

Used to mash ingredients, such as is done in the making of Tam Mahung.
