Bun Samha

In the seventh lunar month, Bun Samha is for making merirt by cleansing. Monks perform a religious ritual and make holy water.  The villagers take sacred cords and holy water home to tie cords around their relatives' wrists and to sprinkle the holy water upon their relatives and animals heads for auspiciousness and driving away all devils.  This month has the ritual call "Liang Puta" an offering foods to the spirits ritual.  Puta means villegers' ancestors who guard the village.
