1. & 2. Numbers and fractions:  ==> CB 2.9 & 2.11 -- REMEMBER: 1/2 = setengah

3.  These are my grandparents. ==> CB 2.1 (where Melati introduces her grandparents); there is no one word for grandparents -- say "my grandmother and grandfather."

4.  That person is my uncle/auntie/ etc. ==> see Kosa Kata (vocab), CB pp. 32 & 44;  "That person" = orang itu

ALSO:  see CB 2.5; you could use adalah here -- "that person" = "my uncle/auntie/grandfather/friend"

5.  That person is fat/clever/tall ==> see Kosa Kata CB p. 38, and especially the AWAS! box on p. 37;  there is no "is" in front of adjectives!

6.  At my school there are fifty teachers. ==> CB. 2.6;  ada meaning "there is/are"

7.  Mother is at the market/shop etc.==> CB. 2.6; ada meaning "located at"

8.  We are studying Indonesian. ==> CB 2.7 -- see the first contoh

9.  They are eating breakfast. ==> CB 2.7 -- see the second contoh;  remember "they" = mereka

10. My father is not a pilot. ==> CB 2.15, p. 45 -- see the picture of the happy pilot!

11.  That house is not new. ==> CB 2.15, p. 46 -- see the picture of the car.

12.  I haven't yet been to Indonesia/etc. ==> CB 2.15, p. 46, discussion of belum.

13.  May I have some milk? ==> CB 2.17; literally "may ask for the milk?"

14.  Would you like some coffee ==>  CB 2.19; literally "want drink coffee?"

15.  Have some more rice ==>  CB 2.19; literally "add rice a bit"

16.  Thanks you very much ==> CB 2.20;  "Thanks alot"

17.  No, thank you ==> CB 2.22

18.  Are there any animals at your house? ==> CB 2.23, 2.27; use ada for "are there...?"  binatang = animal(s), peliharan = (something) cared for, so binatang peliharaan = pet animal (s)

19.  Yes, there are.  I keep a dog and a cat. ==> CB 2.24, 2.27, also Kosa Kata on p53.  If you ask a question with ada, you should answer in the affirmative with "ya, ada." 

"I keep.." translates as "saya memelihara..." = "I take care of...";  "I own..." = "Saya mempunyai...", would also be appropriate here.

20.  No, there are no animals at my house. ==> CB 2.24, 2.27.  Again, if you ask a question with ada, you should answer in the negative with "tidak ada."
