Quincy2002 Installation Instructions
Use Windows Explorer to:
1. Copy the Folder Quincy2002 from the CD to your hard disk drive (probably c:)
Do not make Quincy2002 a subfolder under any other folder. If your hard disk has
a different drive letter, use it instead of c: (and use it in steps 2,
3 and 4 below in place of c:)
2. Copy the file alleg40.dll from the CD to the c:\windows\system
folder on your hard drive. (If you have Windows2000 or NT, the path will be \winnt\system.)
(Note: do not place it in \windows\system32)
3. (Optional) Create a desktop shortcut to Quincy by right-clicking on your
desktop screen, and choosing New/Shortcut. Then type:
c:\Quincy2002\bin\quincy.exe
into the textbox and click Ok.
Now, double-clicking on the shortcut will start Quincy.
4. Depending on your system, you may be able to type in programs, save them, compile and run them with no further configuration.
In some cases, however, you may see an informational box asking you to supply the path for the compiler. To do so, from the Quincy menu, select Tool/Options... and then select the Build tab. In the text box labeled Compiler, type in
C:\Quincy2002\bin\mingw\ (those are backslashes)
(or D: or E: or wherever you installed Quincy)
Then click Ok, and you are ready to go.
Note: Quincy2002 will not work with Macintosh computers.
