Lesson Plans

These Lessons provide an outline for Tagalog Language teachers who are interested in integrating the web-based lessons in this site with their classroom teaching.  The themes in these lessons are based on the textbook, Conversational Tagalog (Ramos, 1985).  These lessons are merely suggested outline for classroom use.

This page consists of simple traditional games for classroom use.  These games can be modified  and used to fit chosen language content.  For example, Agawan Sulok could be a game appropriate for teaching commands and directions. Bulong Pari can be modified for vocabulary practice and use.

These are short popular folktales translated into English that can be used as an enrichment in the language classroom.  Students can be encouraged to translate a foktale into Tagalog.   These stories are organized by regions in the Philippines.

One of the authentic ways of bringing the culture of the target language into the classroom is teaching food preparation and actual food tasting to language learners.  Authentic food items can help build vocabulary and generate discussion on cultural differences.
