BAKYA MO NENENG

S. S. Suarez - Composer
Levi Celerio - Lyricist

Bakya
mo, Neneng, luma at kupas na
Ngunit may
bakas pa ng luha mo, Sinta;
Sa alaala'y muling nagbalik pa
Ang dating kahapong
tigib ng ligaya.

Ngunit,

Huwag itapon, aking
hirang,
Ang aliw ko kailan man.

HARANA
ni Nemiranda Jr.

This traditional songis about a man who asks why his former beloved decided, one day, not to wear the wooden shoe which he gave her.  He wonders if she will just throw it away, now that it is already old and worn out, but he still hopes that she will not.

ANG DALAGANG PILIPINA

J. Santos -- composer
Jose Corazon de Jesus -- Lyricist

Ang dalagang Pilipina, parang tala sa umaga
Kung tanawin ay nakaliligaya
May ningning na tangi at dakilang ganda
Maging sa ugali, maging kumilos
mayumi, mahinhin, mabini ang lahat ng
   ayos
Malinis ang puso maging sa pag-irog
may tibay at tining ng loob

Bulaklak na tanging marilag, ang bango
   ay humahalimuyak
Sa mundo'y dakilang panghiyas,
   pang-aliw sa pusong may hirap.
Batis ng ligaya at galak, hantungan ng
   madlang pangarap.
Iyan ang dalagang Pilipina, karapat-dapat
   sa isang tunay na pagsinta.
