Attendance:  Jason, Dom, Maggie, Lee, Carolina, Tia, Lyndy, Jenn

NEW MEETING TIME:  Wednesday, 5:00pm

Michael: talk to SA and set up an appointment for budget review

Big: (Burma Interest Group)

-         meetings will be on the third Friday of every month immediately following the brown bag in Campus Life room 110

-         they are working on Burma night and we will begin coordinating with them after the student conference

All Southeast Asia Culture Night: 2/27

-         will be held at the Newman Center

-         Lyndy: talk to Chandra about the food

-         Lyndy: contact the Thai dancers from Chicago; talk to the Burma folks about doing an act; talk to Dini’s son about doing the trivia

-         Carolina: talk to Julie Lamb about contacts for Lao acts

-         Tia: talk to Kheang about Cambodian acts

-         Maggie: talk to PAISA representatives about getting other clubs involved; talk to Tagalog class singer

-         Acts:

o       Music by Dr. Han

o       Malay dancers?

o       Lee: Hmong dance

o       Trivia

o       Indonesian group audience participation dance

o       Fashion show?

o       Tagalog class singer?

o       MC = Tia?

Student Paper Conference: 2/28

-         abstracts due on 1/26

-         papers due on 2/9

-         Dom: continue working on room reservations; talk to Nancy about sending a reminder email; talk to Michael about the budget

-         Dom & Lyndy: talk to panel professors

REMINDER: All FLAS recipients are REQUIRED to submit a paper to present at the student paper conference!
