Monday Meeting Minutes

November 3, 2003

6:00-7:00 pm, HSC 403

Attendance: Jason, Mary, Michael, Lee, Maggie, Tyler, Lyndy, Luke, Carolina, Anne, Kashfi, Iris, Dom, Jenn

Club Constitution:

-         read and revised

-         Michael: revise constitution and complete appropriate paperwork.

Social Night: 11/6

-         meet between 7:30 and 8:00pm at the Annex

COTS: 11/8

-         Meet at 6:15am at the parking lot behind the Stevens Building (Anthropology building)

Conference:

-         we’re still waiting on replies from our possible key note speaker

Philippine Night: 11/21

-         the AAA night will be held on 12/5

-         IBU has another engagement on 11/21 and so can’t come

-         Mary, Iris, Anne, Maggie, Jason: meet on Wednesday at 11:00am to firm up details about acts, food, etc. – tell Jenn as soon as everything is finalized

-         Jenn: talk to Nancy about sending an email

-         Jenn & Carolina: flyer by next Monday

Announcements:

-         Burma Interest Group of Northern Illinois University (BIG-NIU) is looking for members – membership is free for non-voting members, $7 for student full voting members, and $15 for faculty/staff/alumni/community.  Please contact the Center for Burma Studies (753-0512, Adams 410) for more information.

-         Don’t forget: reception at the Neher’s for John Brandon on 11/6 and John Brandon’s special talk on why Southeast Asia is important today on 11/7
