Kartun ini melukiskan banyak tindakan represif yang masih terjadi di masa reformasi ini. Gambar sepatu boot (militer) itu mengindikasikan penggunaan kekerasan untuk menyelesaikan konflik. Buku yang diinjaknya menggambarkan betapa proses hukum dan hak asasi manusia masih belum tangguh menghadapi tindakan represif seperti yang terjadi di Aceh. Dan seringkali kritik yang dilontarkan pada penguasa ditanggapi secara sepihak. Paling-paling dengan menghukum prajurit rendahan, serta mengatakan pelanggaran itu sebagai "kesalahan prosedur."

(This cartoon illustrates that there are lots of repressive acts still conducted in the reform era. This picture's boots indicate that there is the use of violence to solve the conflict. The book that was stepped on by shoes describes how the legal process and human rights are not strong enough to face the use of repressive tools as happened in Aceh. Most of time, the criticism directed at authority was responded to partially. Most often, they punished the lower level of army officials, then describe the abuses as "procedural mistakes."
