Note for 'Asam di gunung ...    In the context of love and marriage this proverb means that however far you are separated, if you are made for each other, you will be joined together by destiny.  

        

Note for 'Besar pasak ..    This proverb can be translated as "the pin is bigger than the pole"  which means
living beyond what one's station in life entitles. You can say this to someone who
spends more than what he earns.

 

Note for 'Adakah buaya ...   This proverb is targeted at a bad person. It means that whenever this person gets a chance, it is almost certain that he would do a bad thing again.
